Description
This is a classic Japanese tea called Houjicha. Known as a savory tea that is made by slowly roasting tea leaves or shoots. Due to it’s color it is often mistaken as a black tea, but it is actually a green tea. This selection is from Shizuoka, Japan.
Great for multiple steeps and has a moderate yet distinct flavor.
We enjoy steeping at 175° F for 45 seconds and lightly increasing the time with each steep.
Steep time: 45 seconds to 1 minute
Steep temperature: 175° F
Caffeine level: low – 5%~10% the caffeine of a cup of coffee
